Buying a hybrid car is like committing to helping the world. It is a joyful experience that makes you feel great and makes you proud to know that now you are part of those who do not go around burning gas as if it were going to last forever. However, with so many options, how do you know which car to buy?
So I started researching all the available models. Here’s my latest hybrid car review: The Nisssan Altima Hybrid.
The 2010 Nissan Altima Hybrid is Nissan’s first attempt to enter the hybrid market. With a 244.8v NiMH battery pack designed by Panasonic, the Altima is a hodgepodge of automotive ingredients ranging from Ford to Toyota. The exterior is beautifully packaged and yet traditional in a specifically Nissan way.
The 2010 Nissan Altima Hybrid is Nissan’s response to the success of the Toyota Prius. Nissan claims that diesel engines are the most efficient route to go with hybrids. That’s why Nissan is debuting its hybrid line with a diesel.
The Altima Hybrid is only for sale in 8 states, which will make finding parts and general service for the vehicle difficult. Still, this hybrid doesn’t exactly generate excitement when I think about it. The overall design is the same as the non-hybrid Altima and the car wasn’t that impressive even when it was just gas. Rumor has it that a new redesign will be implemented on the 2012 model. It may be a good idea to wait the two years for the new version.
