it’s possible? The end is coming? One couldn’t believe such a thing out of hand. I’ve gotten into video games myself with Mario pushing me first. In elementary school, I remember times when my friends and I would gather at my house as we took turns trying to finish the seemingly endless number of stages in Super Mario Brothers 3. This tradition runs deep into our generation, so much so that they alternate. . Versions of the game have been generated. These versions and spin-offs like Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Super Wario and even the Yoshi games are so many. If these were counted as Super Mario Games, surely that would cement the beloved franchise in the history books.

But the Wii phenomenon is truly a tidal wave in the gaming industry. I guess twenty-four years is long enough for any world record. That is, if you consider how world records rise and fall monthly or even annually, then Mario is already an unsurpassed achievement.

It appears that in the last fiscal year, a total of about 46 million copies of Wii Sports games were sold. That makes it officially less than a million more than Super Mario Brothers. These are compared, of course, with their respective consoles.

Before all fans see this as a sign of the imminent end of the gaming world, you need to realize something first. Nintendo itself does not say directly whether it is absolutely true that Wii Sports is now its number one seller. They do not verify or refute claims that Mario is now playing a supporting role. Some could possibly read this Nintendo move in many ways. After all, Super Mario’s sales records were not kept on strict ledgers. And also, the VC downloads of the games should be taken into account as well. It may not lose its crown, so there is hope that we will still remember it as the most amazing game to ever appear in the 8-bit graphics of our collective childhood.
