One of the most effective pickup techniques to attract women is hoops. This is a concept originally developed by Mystery. According to him, the idea of the hoop theory goes something like this: Women shoot hoops, and when they do, you have a couple of options.
For example, you might say, “Buy me a drink.” This is actually a qualifier. She is trying to get you to rate yourself by seeing if you are going to buy her a drink to hang out with her. She is setting you a frame. She says you have to pay money to talk to her, and this gives her a higher value and a lower value for you.
In other words, buying her that drink will bring a lot of bad things with it. This doesn’t mean you should never buy one from him. But if she questions you early in the match, she’s trying to set up a framework where you’re a lower value than her.
So one option is to jump through hoops. You can say, “Great, okay, I’ll buy you a drink.” It’s not always a bad idea, but it usually is, especially if it’s in the first few minutes of talking to her.
Another option is to ignore it. As pickup artist Captain Jack puts it: “The number 1 rule of pickup is: anything that doesn’t help you, you can ignore it.” So you can keep talking and if she doesn’t bring it up again, she’s done.
Or you can put a hoop in front of her. You say, “I don’t normally buy drinks from strangers, but you buy this one and I’ll buy the next one.” Now, if she buys the drink, you have to qualify herself for you!
The point is that you have to know about hoops because you can make them work for you; but also because she will throw them in front of you too.
There are hoops of different sizes. For example, a small one would be “Are you a good friend?” “What would your best friend say about you?” is a bit bigger, and something like “What do you like the most about yourself?” it’s huge. The smaller ones are easier to use and will usually get a response, but the larger ones are higher risk and higher reward. When using hoops with your pickup artist techniques, it’s important to keep an eye out for this. Mix some small ones with medium ones and save the big ones for later.
