I’m sure many of us were taught the Lord’s Prayer or “Our Father” as a means of penance after the confessional, aimlessly repeating words without a basic instructional knowledge or understanding of their non-literal dynamic value. .

The Lord’s Prayer, when understood esoterically, as intended by its author, is more powerful than the sum of its words. But simply repeating the words is not enough to achieve the desired level of consciousness in prayer.

The word “Lord” refers to the Law, and more specifically, the cosmic law, while “Prayer” refers to a standard of [expressed] conscience. Collectively, the Lord’s Prayer refers to the correct use of the mind: living a specific level of consciousness, that is, cosmic or Christ consciousness; thus, the Our Father, when applied, represents an instructive detail in the development of consciousness.

We read in the scriptures that the Apostles (symbolizing the 12 qualities of the soul) went (conscious direction) to Jesus (Path or process of reaching Christ consciousness) and said: “Master, (all-knowing transcendent Consciousness) teach us how pray “(how to live the divine norm).

“Life is a prayer”

Every thought, word and action assimilated through the mind is a prayer of life, a statement or a barometer level of our current state of consciousness, a request to the Law, the Lord or the Master to be re-experienced, either consciously or unconsciously. In this sense, it is vital that we are aware of the possibility that we may be automatically reaffirming life patterns through lower consciousness, through mindsets and belief systems that do not serve life rather than through a standard. developed from Master consciousness.

To counteract this potential, the Apostles, as mentioned, (inner spiritual mechanisms for the awakening of the higher soul) sought a standard of eternal principles by which such a divine cosmic nature would be realized within. [consciousness].

The Scripture says it: “Jesus (process) takes Peter (ego) James (mental aspect of the soul) and John (love or nature of the higher Self) to a high mountain (meditation) separated (within)” – Matthew 17: 1

In practical terms, this represents a method of awakening the mind, body, and spirit; a process of crucifying the blockage – ego – Matthew 16:23 – through a meditative state of inner Calvary whereby the inner Christ or the Ascension of the Heart becomes experiential. “Mount” in scripture means the highest point of inner consciousness, or transcendence, not a physical mountain.

Many misinterpret the Apostles’ request to mean: Teacher, teach us a better way to squeeze more “goodies” from God, thus reducing prayer to material begging, thus confusing the words of prayer with the process of obtaining greater understanding through cosmic consciousness in meditation. Simply repeating the words is not the intention of “praying”.

Seven, in biblical terms, refers to completion. Therefore, the Lord’s Prayer, written in the PRESENT tense, contains seven metaphysical or dynamic clauses of psychological / spiritual seeds that, when germinated within, lead to experiential culmination or maturity in cosmic or Christ consciousness.

The seven clauses as written:

Our father.

Who art in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

And forgive us our offenses, as we also forgive those who offend us.

And do not let us into temptation; But deliver us from evil:

For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

This last section, “for yours is the kingdom …” was not part of the original text, but was added later.

Let’s decode each clause for its deepest spiritual value.

[Our Father]: Establishes the omnipotent state of God: father / son relationship: total dependence for all our needs: our inexhaustible source of reception. God is God to every soul regardless of their formal religious affiliation, or none at all.

[Which art in heaven]: God is always in heaven, always perfect and perfecting. Heaven is the term the Scriptures use for Presence [of God / Love]. Without conscious Presence there can be no recognized divine expression. The divine nature is latent within each of us as yin / yang or male / female dynamics.

[Hallowed be thy Name]: “Name” in the scriptures relates to the “nature” of what is referred to. God’s “Name” refers to God’s “Nature” which, in terms of manifestation and expression, is unconditional love, happiness, health, healing, prosperity, creativity, and abundance. “Name” or Nature is relative and absolute simultaneously. In other words, similar to how one tablespoon of ocean (relative) contains the ingredients of the entire ocean (absolute), so the eternal nature of God is innately present in the DNA of every soul.

[Thy kingdom come]: Whenever and wherever we express Love or Presence, we are affirming that “your kingdom come” to [our] conscience. Through your expression, we are declaring that divine nature IS our now experience, IS our guiding wisdom in all of our present internal / external circumstances.

[Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven]: Biblical “earth” does not refer to planet earth, but to our body, personal affairs, work, family, health, creativity, relationships, etc. We are declaring that God-Nature manifests in every area / situation of our life expression, even if it is not yet visibly present.

[Give us this day our daily bread]: All our spiritual needs are included in “bread”. To receive the daily bread (manna or food of the soul), meditative silence is fundamental, it is the fundamental work of our “bread” that manifests itself in consciousness. Whenever the lack is reflected in our life, check if we are declaring the Heart through external dependence. Divine reception requires that we be in inner vibrational tune, because God works through us, not for us.

[And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us]: Surely the greatest teaching of the Master. It is the number one “test” that each of us face momentarily internally / externally. In short: if we are waiting for forgiveness, we must unequivocally forgive others and ourselves. In reality, we can only receive what we are capable of giving. [in consciousness]. It is not possible to know forgiveness unless there is an internal “configuration” of it. Not forgiving, for whatever reason, keeps the soul a slave to the lower ego, thus stifling spiritual growth. Instead, we use the hurts of the past as opportunities to crucify the ego.

[And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil]: As we “awaken” spiritually we become enormously sensitive to the hurts inflicted by others, by ourselves and by life situations. Little things that would not have bothered us before, now after awakening pose a potential for harm, therefore tempting the ego back into conditioned ways (similarly to Peter (ego) when he drew his sword in Gethsemane) . Since anger and provocation are never more than a “temptation” away, Jesus cautions against dealing with life’s affairs in reactionary ways – through an uncrucified “fat calf” ego mentality – therefore, Consciousness “surrenders” [from evil].

[For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen]. God is the underlying Power / Cause / Glory within all creation. A power, a spirit.
