Usually hunters in World of Warcraft have to make a decision between increasing their rank in their chosen professions and buying food for their pet. One way to avoid this particular problem is to choose two gathering professions. By doing this, everything you collect you sell and you won’t worry about using it because you won’t be able to, but you can use the money to buy those items or consumables.

Taking two collecting wow hunter professions will allow you to simply collect whatever you find along the way during your adventures and then sell them in the AH once you have a full stack of them. Many professionals who change professions in their 70s not so long ago, and from now on to the 80s, will prefer to cultivate HA for cheap material rather than doing it on their own.

Skinning is a great profession, because you will be killing a lot of creatures and the leather you get from their skins will prove to be quite valuable in the long run. It sure won’t bring you incredible prices at first, but as you level up and your prey as well, you’ll see the amount of gold you can charge for leather piles increases.

Along the same lines, mining is a great collecting profession choice and one of my favorites because there is a need for ore or bars at any given point in the game because there are three main professions that need metal: blacksmithing, engineering, and jewelry.
