Do you need a writing guide for your baby shower invitations? This article will help you to include all the important information, as well as how to write it correctly.

Don’t get caught up in the look of your invitation and forget about the most important thing: the information. This will avoid a lot of confusion and unnecessary emails and phone calls.

Okay, I’m sure you know the basics for including date, time, place, and of course who it’s for. Something that I have often seen omitted is where the mother is registered. If it is not registered anywhere, you can include a list of the items you need and the colors or themes you are using in your baby’s nursery. Also, let guests know if you are having a boy or a girl.

Another thing that will save you a lot of communication with guests is to include a detailed map or print directions. Don’t assume that everyone will know how to get there. Also, don’t ask guests to trust Map Quest or any other service like that. Sometimes these services can be unreliable. I once attended a baby shower that hardly anyone attended. I later found out that many of the guests couldn’t find it because addresses were not included.

Be sure to include RSVP with your contact information. Consider including your email and cell phone number as well. This way people will have the option to send a quick reply by email. Also, by including their cell phone number, guests will have a number to call in case they get lost.

Should I put “only regrets” instead of RSVP? It is a personal preference. Either way, you will have some people who say they come and don’t show up and people who come and you weren’t expecting them. You may also consider setting a date that you would like guests to RSVP.

One last thing to consider is whether the baby shower will be “floating.” This just means that guests can come in at any time during the shower.
