Do your words bring home the bacon? For many people; are not. Your writing isn’t convincing enough to get people to open their wallets and buy from you. Writing is a science. It takes time to master it. Not overpowered by saying, but can significantly improve. But the first step to mastering writing is to identify the dark spots. What are those things that make your writing a weak sauce?

1. IT’S NOT FUNNY: Children write is fun. You may need to read to many children writing to understand that. You have to be a lot of fun to catch the attention of a 5 year old and it is not an easy task but it is doable. Unfortunately, many people have the attention span of a 9-year-old. Your writing needs to grab their attention. Forget about professionalism and bring out your fun side when writing.

2. IT IS NOT EASY TO UNDERSTAND: Enough of the giant technicalities. Use only technical terms when writing to someone “technically”. When writing to a beginner, like many people online, keep it as simple as the alphabet. The number of people online increases significantly as the year goes on and therefore your writing should be simpler and easier to understand.

3. NOBODY SEES IT: Don’t write just for SEO, but optimize it for SEO. You may have an excellent copy on your site. If no one sees it, it is ineffective. Learn SEO basics and optimize your posts to rank high

4. DON’T BE COMPLACENT: Go back and modify your writing. Modify and modify until you cannot modify any more. Until you get the result you want. That’s the beauty of writing, you can always optimize it. The writing is “tunable”. Too much copy is like talking too much. That has the power to reduce your credibility. But a great speech will raise your credibility like a banner.

5. YOU ARE AFRAID OF GOING ON BOARD: What is exaggerated in writing anyway? You are behind a screen. But keep it down to something you can back up with results. Honesty is still the best policy.

Writing a sales copy is an art and it becomes exciting once you see the results your words are having. Convincing people to take specific action is something we do every day. You don’t need to be technical or over the top. These are the elements of a good sales copy.

– it’s interesting

– It is empty

– is concise

– It’s persuasive.

Incorporate these and start seeing big conversions.
