Many wonder about the safety of using a patio heater in a gazebo. A gazebo is a nice place to sit overnight and cools like a patio during the colder months of the year. It is okay to run a patio heater in a gazebo under certain circumstances.

Make sure the gazebo is not closed. It should be wide open, as if your patio is outside of the rafters that support the ceiling. But if you are really that concerned or if there is any enclosed space indoors, buy an indoor / outdoor heater that is safe to use even in completely enclosed spaces.

The best source of fuel for a heater used in this way will be electric. The natural gas lines to the roundabout will be too expensive. Propane is an option, but it will take up more space. You’ll have to deal with the electric heater wires, but it’s a much easier fuel source than the others.

One of the concerns about using a heater inside the gazebo is limited space. Full-size heaters can be a bit too large for an average-size one. An option to consider as an alternative could be to use electric wall heaters. These can be hung inside the gazebo saving some space and keeping the device out of the middle of the area. You can also get a standing infrared heater and point it towards the gazebo while outside of the space.

Whichever option you choose, rest assured. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations on the box. Never try to make up your own version of what is or is not safe.
