Warts on the face and body can affect our self-confidence in a very big way. Not only do they look unsightly, but they can also take a few years to resolve, when left to their own devices. Depending on where the warts are located on the body, they can cause irritation by rubbing against the skin or getting caught on clothing and jewelry.

The wart virus usually enters the skin through defects in the epidermis, which is the outer covering of the skin. Although common, they are often considered embarrassing, especially when they are on a visible part of the body, such as the face and hands.

Warts can grow almost anywhere on the body, but are commonly found on the:

  • Hands
  • Face
  • Neck
  • Behind

Warts are one of the most common skin infections you can get and are caused by a virus. They are easily spread by direct contact, and you can easily be re-infected when you touch the wart and then touch other parts of your body. Warts sit on the skin and look good; bumpy-textured growths that often look like a cabbage or a smooth blister. They can occur anywhere on the body, and while some of them cause no discomfort and go away on their own, others persist and can cause discomfort and pain.

Some common types of warts are:

common warts – usually grow on the fingers and toes, but can appear anywhere. They have a rough, grainy appearance and a rounded top. They are grayer in color than the surrounding skin.

flat warts – are slow growing, small and not immediately apparent. They are smooth and flat with a rough appearance and typically occur on the face, neck, knees, and wrists. They may look pink, brownish, or slightly yellow.

filiform warts – are flesh-colored warts on the face and neck. They are small and shaped like a small flap or skin tag, and grow around the mouth or nose and sometimes under the chin or on the neck.

plantar warts – are also known as warts and grow on the soles of the feet, but unlike other warts, plantar warts grow inside the skin, not outside it. These warts are flat with a black center, surrounded by hardened skin, and can cause pain or discomfort when walking.

periungual warts – grow under and around the fingernails and toenails. They can cause pain and affect nail growth.

Radiosurgery treatment is an ideal method for wart removal. It involves the use of high-frequency radio waves that generate heat, which evaporates the wart. This advanced technology generates much less heat than other conventional methods, leaving minimal scarring on the skin. Radiosurgery penetrates the area of a wart and the radio wand electrode travels over the wart, heating the area and removing the wart without cutting the skin.

With wart removal treatment, downtime is almost non-existent. You will be able to return to your normal daily routine quickly, without any lingering discomfort.
