Holy water is plain water that is sworn by someone with the authority to do so. I am not qualified to sanctify the water and call it holy. It requires a formal ritual that must be followed; and in the Catholic Church, for example, it is performed by a priest, or a higher authority, such as a bishop or an archbishop. I promote holy water freely and openly with family and friends as a healing agent; and I have tested its power to heal and cure pain over the years with amazing results. Do people in general believe that this water has some kind of healing power? Of course not, but I feel that it is mainly due to a lack of information and experience in its use.

In previous articles, I said that holy water is traditionally used for blessing ceremonies. To date, I have yet to hear or be informed by anyone that this water can be used to heal wounds and heal pain. But I found that it does exactly that, and I mean, with incredible success. I am not a child to make this up. I am 65 years old and lead a very active life: physically, professionally and spiritually.

Let me clarify that the healing power of holy water that I speak of so often is bestowed by God, and certainly not by man. However, it is our birthright to ask God to give us the inspiration to promote holy water to anyone seeking relief from constant acute pain, or perhaps having difficulty getting a good night’s sleep. Why not let the wounded water do its work? I think it’s a much safer solution than getting into the habit of taking strong painkillers and a variety of sleeping pills.

I came across the “healing power” of holy water totally by accident. Five years ago I tried it on a torn ligament in my right hand. The pain was excruciating, and on x-rays the thumb was found to be dislocated. The cost of the surgery to repair the damage was beyond my financial capacity. So I took the next best thing (as my older sister advised) and dipped my entire hand in holy water for a period of three weeks, once a day. The hand healed within a month and my thumb has been fully functional ever since. With the holy water treatment I avoided surgery and didn’t bother buying the pain reliever my doctor prescribed.

People have asked me if wound water can relieve rheumatic pain and I say yes. I have concluded through experimentation that holy water can and does do miraculous things for those who apply it. The results with me have always been more than favorable. Just the other day my left shoulder was sore from exercising. I took holy water that I keep in a bottle on my desk and rubbed it generously on my shoulder. The pain disappeared, as if by magic, in just a few minutes after the water made contact with my skin. And let me add, I had relief for the rest of the day, and better yet, the pain didn’t come back to haunt me the next day either.

A friend of mine who owns a high-end bike shop had a terrible bike accident a few years ago, and today the pain in his shoulder is excruciating. I took my mountain bike in for a tune up this weekend and offered to bring him a bottle of holy water. Will the water work to ease his pain? Yes, it will because it always works for me, and all the recipient has to do is follow my instructions.

I have found that it is the giver’s firm belief in the healing power of wounded water that counts most, not so much the recipient’s. So I’m telling you, if you give someone a vial of holy water for their use, it will be your faith (or mine, if I send you the vial) in the healing power of this element that will carry the other person forward. I will give you some ideas about the possible uses of holy water for yourself, family, friends and new people you will meet on your journey through life. These methods have served me well over the years, and I hope the same for you.

1) Sore, tired and red eyes: with your fingers, place the water on the upper and lower lids of both eyes. Avoid getting water in your eyes as it could irritate them. Once or twice a day is fine, or as often as you like.

2) Pain in any part of the body: Rub the water gently on the areas with your hand. Try with your ‘heart and soul’ to feel the pain disappear when the holy water comes into contact with your skin. Remember these words: “As your faith, so be it with you!”

3) Headaches: migraine, sinusitis, stress, etc. – touch your temples, forehead and nose with fingers wet with water. Take your time and try to feel relief almost immediately. It works for me every time, and the same with my sore eyes, joints, and muscles.

4) With family members living at home, place the water on the forehead from time to time. Members who live in other places, bless them by placing holy water on their photos. It is a way of asking God to protect them from evil, accidents and illnesses.

5) Trouble sleeping: I exercise a lot and sleeping soundly is not a problem for me. I would recommend, if this is not your case, that instead of taking a sleeping pill to solve the problem, you put holy water on your forehead with your fingers and spread it gently. Let go of anything that might be holding you back and feel your body relax. You can also say these words: “Thank you Lord for your help.”

6) Cancer patients: Use the water on cancerous areas to relieve pain. You have nothing to lose by trying the “holy water treatment,” as I call it. Regardless of the religion of his birth, he is the same God for all of us, and it is his water that he is using and not mine. I will make it available to him, if he has no way of acquiring it at a nearby church wherever he lives.

If you know a friend who is going through chemotherapy and radiation treatments right now, ask if you can sprinkle holy water on their head and on the areas where the cancer is concentrated. Not much, but a few drops are enough, and preferably daily. Just make sure that the patient accepts the idea of this procedure. If they object for any reason, back off and don’t insist.

If you ask me for a vial of holy water, I will get it for you at my church and send it anywhere in the world. Please make your request through my email address. It will be my courtesy to send a small bottle filled with wounded water at my expense. I do not ask for anything, only your blessings and your speedy healing, or that of your loved ones or friends. That seems fine to me?
