Even with the Xbox and Sony hot on Nintendo’s heels, and despite the strides the competition is making, the Nintendo Wii is still the best-selling game console system. Combined with the Nintendo DS, DSi, DSi XL, and the upcoming 3DS system, Nintendo has maintained the lead in the console wars. 2010 will be an amazing season for new releases, but 2011 will bring even more exciting titles!

If you are a fan of the LEGO series of Nintendo Wii games, 2011 will bring you more surprises with the release of LEGO Star Wars III – The Clone Wars. The LEGO games have been a huge success for the Wii and Travelers Tales, the company that designed them. The latest games to be released are based on the success of Harry Potter and are titled Lego Harry Potter – Years 1-4.

If they can achieve what they have achieved for every LEGO game to date, LEGO Star Wars III – The Clone Wars will bring another hit and entertain players.

The other big hit waiting for gamers is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The Zelda series of games dates back to the early days of Nintendo. Zelda has a loyal following of players who have stuck with the game over the years, and it’s been 23 years to be exact.

Link – the main character of The Legend of Zelda has been around for 23 years in various incarnations. First released in the ’80s, the game has evolved for new players. Richer characters, deeper gameplay, and story lines have made the Zelda series of games a treasure trove for both new and experienced players.

What will The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword present? How about full motion control using the Wii MotionPlus accessory that will synchronize player movements with character actions providing more intuitive gameplay control? Imagine, turn right and your character turns right, turn left and the character moves in unison towards you.

Precision play isn’t limited to the “good guys” of the game, it applies to the villains as well. Players will have to think about their strategy when fighting against opponents who will now be able to defend against attacks.

Nintendo has been doing things right for years and there’s no doubt that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be another hit for the game company that can’t seem to do anything wrong.
