Pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. If you don’t press any of them, press all of them or only some of them once. It can be confusing, but for the person who wants beautiful skin, these are questions that need answers. To squeeze or not to squeeze blackheads, that is the question.

In all seriousness, whether or not to squeeze out blackheads has been a point of contention for decades. A blackhead is like a whitehead or a pimple or is it different because it is true that you should never squeeze a pimple. So let’s take a look at the pros and cons of squeezing out blackheads.

Before we continue, let’s define a blackhead, a whitehead, a pimple, and a pimple. Many people tend to lump some or all of these conditions together, but they are different and by understanding their differences we can better understand why or why not squeezing them in is a good idea.

Shin

This is also known as an open comedone, which means a clogged pore or hair follicle that is open to outside air. A blackhead doesn’t have the inflammation that a pimple or pimple can, so it’s not as dangerous to spread, since it lacks the bacteria that make pimples and blackheads so dangerous to squeeze, among other things. Blackheads are made up of sebum (oil) and dead skin. With more sebum than necessary for proper bodily function, it combines with dead skin cells and clogs hair follicles and pores. If the sebum in the follicle is exposed to air, it will darken and cause blackheads to appear.

White head

A whitehead or closed comedone is made up of the same elements as a blackhead, except there is a layer of skin over the top of the follicle, preventing outside air from oxidizing the sebum. Blackhead, like blackhead, normally lacks the presence of the p. acnes, resulting in inflammation that is usually painful and obviously an abnormality.

shin

This is such a general term and can refer to a pimple or a pimple. I prefer to use the term “blackhead” to mean a whitehead that is not inflamed like a pimple or general bumps on the skin that result from cosmetic acne or diaper rash. It is a common term for cosmetic acne, diaper rash, and other skin conditions that cause pimples. There are more situations that precipitate the formation of pimples but they are not those that include sebum or bacteria.

grain

This is a horrible word and it scares anyone familiar with the horrible presence of a pimple. I want to classify the pimple as a whitehead that is large and can even appear yellowish and usually has a reddish tinge around the white center that shows inflammation. The pimple is a little different than the blackhead.

Unlike blackheads and whiteheads, the Propionibacterium acnes bacterium is present. This is the bacteria that lives in a hair follicle to raise a family with plenty of sebum to eat. The presence of the bacteria causes the white blood cells of the immune system to respond to the infection by causing inflammation that can be painful. The whitehead on the skin is filled with pus, which is made up of sebum, dead skin cells, white blood cells, and the remains of dead and dying bacteria. The extension of a pimple under the skin is more extensive than that of a blackhead. When a pimple is squeezed, the pus can be pushed through the tissues to another region of facial skin and can spread acne and pimples. This adds to the buildup of pus on the surface of the skin and the spread of acne and pimples that way. Scarred skin that will remain there for life without laser resurfacing is the result of squeezing pimples.

To squeeze or not to squeeze a blackhead

Unlike the blackhead, the blackhead is much more stable, but nevertheless, if you are not careful, squeezing it can damage the skin and cause more trouble than it would be worth. Products like blackhead extractors that use suction can cause similar problems and that goes for pore strips too.

It would be hard for me to recommend squeezing any type of blackhead from what I know. People suggest that there are ways to squeeze out blackheads without any danger, but the danger is always there. Would it be much better to change our lifestyle that would naturally eliminate the circumstances that cause excess sebum to be produced?

To conclude, I would say that there are dangers that come with squeezing any blackhead. Squeezing blackheads may not cause problems, but the potential is always there, so learn how to take care of your body to prevent conditions that precipitate blackheads.
