Flanked by Broadway and 7th Avenue, on West 55thst, is a hotel that, in one way or another, is a bit unique, unique in an incredibly nice way. This is the Dream Hotel New York.
Different considering that not many hotels offer 2-story aquariums or a huge figure of Catherine the Great. Dream in New York has that and more. This is not a sculptured decoration, but it is beautiful, simple and fashionable. A friendly and elegant team meets you as you enter the lobby and 14 and 200 suites, before heading out to the shops of the Big Apple. Subject to your taste in colors, the decoration of the suites or rooms are different. They are all made of white and light blue neon blue lighting under the bed. Don’t be scared by glass top desks, they are stronger than you think.
On the negative side, the white decorations underline even the slightest wear.
You will find some facilities in the room or suite but in the case of internet connection it is pay per use. Plasma television fixed on the wall that offers free access restricted to air stations. Suites and rooms are custom-tailored specifically for lounging specifically on the feather bed and, as an added bonus, a fluffy monarch bathrobe.
Non-smoking rooms are available as are safes and minibars.
The access card gives you a gentle reminder of available restaurants and a hint of shopping tips. Dream New York has a number of wonderful offerings, like complimentary yoga and meditation sessions at the Chopra Deepak Center, not forgetting a gym pass to one of the local facilities. Valet and street parking are available. In-house dinners and parties are available to you at the Ava Lounge, high up on the 15th floor, which has a great scene; or “RmFifty5” and his French provincial decorations. For pizza lovers, Serafina Broadway offers some of the best crispy narrow crust pizza in town. For a comfortable and knowledgeable setting, you’ll find it all at The Crystal Room.
