If we can eliminate all the products that attract them to our house, then they will be discouraged from hive in our house. We will have to make all food sources unattainable for them. And we will have to try to keep our bathroom and kitchen sink clean and dry after using them. This will prevent the infestation of carpenter ants in our house.

It is very important to kill the hive queen. A hive consists of a queen, few males, and the remaining working member. If the queen can escape while she is performing a kill operation, she will increase the spawn rate to retrieve lost hive members. And the infestation becomes very dangerous. So, we must be very careful with the queen.
