Hawkeye Movie
I’m sure there were a lot of fans when Stallone and Jennifer Aniston starred in the classic film ‘Hawks’ (1990). After that, all the rumors began about an animated film version of the story. While I think it would be a fun project, I’m not going to spout any theories here. I’d rather leave it up to the viewers to come up with their own theories on why there is no Hawkeye film happening anytime soon. However, Stallone did make mention of an animated Hawkeye film at the Golden Globe Awards last year. It doesn’t look like he is planning any more films involving the famed sharpshooter.
Why is there no Hawkeye movie? For one, Stallone has said he has been contracted to do only two more films according to The Hollywood Reporter. He made those remarks while speaking about the ongoing backlash over the cancellation of the third film starring Tom Arnold. Disney, however, claims that there are still several projects in the works.
It would certainly be intriguing to see what happens to Hawkeye and his enemies in future films. Some have suggested that it would be a spinoff of the current TV series featuring the characters. In addition, Stallone would surely have a part to play in whatever project is produced. Having him in it would be a welcome change from his usual characterizations.
Why is There No Hawkeye Movie?
Another question that has come up regarding a Hawkeye film is who would play the role of the father of the protagonist, Clint Eastwood. Many fans have expressed that they would love to see Eastwood back in action, though he has spent the last few years working with the different company that brought him into action. Other than Stallone, there is no other obvious choice for the part. Eastwood has yet to show any interest in playing a traditional lead character in a film.
One interesting piece of information about Clint Eastwood came from an interview with him. The actor mentioned that he had been asked to do a cameo in some Spider-Man 3 movie that director Sam Raimi had. Eastwood was asked to walk around with the metal wall protector that Peter Parker had placed over his head when the wall was blown off. It was actually an experience that was rather amazing for the actor.
One thing that has been clear from all the various characters that have appeared in the original movies and cartoons is that no definitive hero ever truly dies in the comic books or on screen. This makes it a bit of a challenge to come up with new, modern day hero concepts. With this in mind, the possibility of a Hawkeye movie seems more realistic than it has ever been in the past. There may not be another costume change like there was with Clint Eastwood, but the character will always be around the Marvel world.
